This is the general FAQ for WTF:
Q: We know what WTF stands for, but why do you say "Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot?"A:
Whiskey-
Tango-
Foxtrot. Those are the
NATO phonetic letters.
Q: How do I talk to you if I don't want to use IRC/Skpye?A: During the show, I'm usually in the IRC chatroot (irc.d00mnet.com 6667, channel #japan-a-radio) or on Skype (wtf.at.japan-a-radio). Those are the only two methods I use for interaction with listeners and potential callers.
Q: How do I become a 'caller' on the show?A: Become a subscriber, first. Subscriptions make WTF possible, and so it is a benefit/privilege I extend to people who've put their money into Japan-A-Radio. No exceptions. So please
go sign up! It's only $5 a month and you get 128k quality and no stream disconnects every ten minutes like on the free streams.
Once you're a subscriber, listen for when I ask the Trivia Question, and then find me on Skype to answer it. Give me your login name with the answer, and I'll put you in a drawing to be selected (if you have the correct answer). Then get ready to receive a Skype call from me and you'll be on the air for a few minutes.
Q: I live in a later time zone (EST, GMT). How do I get WTF to play when I'm listening?A: Unfortunately, the perils of being a worldwide radio station is that our schedule doesn't always mesh well with international time zones. It's always morning somewhere, right? Japan-A-Radio can rerun the program if enough people ask for it. Send email to
feedbackXXX@japanaradio.com (remove the XXX, first).
