Hello,
I would like to share my experience playing japan-a-radio on my Archos 605 wifi + plugin Opera.
I was listening to the free stream mp3 (cable/dsl) 64k. (64k.pls), and though wow it's cool. It's works. I will buy a silver membership
to get ride of the 10 mins limits. Guess what? The silver streams .pls files doesn't works!
for exemple:
Play or download the file 'sub128k.pls' (Size: 159)
Choosing Play --> Cannot play stream! Damaged or incomplete data!
hmm...., I've used my computer and save the file sub128k.pls, and got a look at it
[playlist]
File1=http://209.9.227.165:8780/japansub128k
Title1=(#1 - 9000/9000) Japan-A-Radio - Japan's best music mix!
Length1=-1
NumberOfEntries=1
Version=2
So, i've decided to play around and did some tests.
1) I connected (from my Archos) to
http://209.9.227.1665:8780/japansub128k, gave my username and password.
What happened is that the stream was saving as a file! Instead of playing. LOL
2) I connected (from my Archos) to
http://209.9.227.165:8780, and clicked on "Click to listen", gave my username and password again,
but this time a file named: "buildm3u" was sent. I tried to [click play] it, but it didn't works either...
The file look like this:
http://rescator:mypassword@209.9.227.165:8780/japansub128Finally, I've found an ugly works around to listen to Japan-A-Radio silver 128k stream.
I edited the file sub128k.pls seen above and changed the line
File1=http://209.9.227.165:8780/japansub128k to File1=http://rescator:mypassword@209.9.227.165:8780/japansub128k
Unfortunetly Archos's Opera doesn't seem to support the "file://" protocol so i had to upload the new sub128k.pls to a private apache web server. I modified it to support audio/x-scpls and, now i connect to this server & .pls file to listen Japan-A-Radio LOL !
Well, it's was funny & complicated but it's works, and i save the authentication process ! wooaoo
